Questions & Answers

What is The KJV Journey?

The KJV Journey is a lifelong exploration of Scripture, led by a teacher who remains its first student. Every book of the King James Bible is read aloud chapter by chapter, with teaching before every chapter: what it says, what it means, and where it fits in the whole counsel of God. It covers the Bible cover to cover, Genesis to Revelation, through chapter lessons, full-book readings and devotions. It's built for every reader, from someone opening the Bible for the first time to pastors, ministers and seasoned students of the Word.

Are you a pastor? What training and background do you bring to teaching the Bible, and have you published any written work?

No. I'm not a pastor, and I hold no ordination. My training is in education: all of my university degrees are in the field, and I taught in American schools. What I bring to Scripture is a teacher's discipline and a lifetime of study. I've spent my life in this Book, and it still teaches me something new every time I open it. That's why I call myself The KJV Journey's first student.

Yes, I have published work, including a three-part series entitled The Theological Background of Christian Zionism, published in Israel in Hebrew and in English by the Ariel Center for Policy Research.

Why the King James Version?

I teach from the King James Version for two reasons.

The first is accuracy. The KJV translators stayed as close as they could to what the original Hebrew and Greek actually say, word for word, rather than smoothing it into modern paraphrase. When you read the KJV, you're reading what the text says, not someone's summary of it.

The second is the text it was translated from. The Old Testament comes from the Masoretic Text: the Hebrew Scriptures as Jewish scribes carefully copied and preserved them for centuries. The New Testament comes from the Textus Receptus, the "Received Text," which follows the family of Greek manuscripts that makes up the great majority of copies that have survived. Many modern translations work from a different Greek text, built mainly on a few older manuscripts. That's why some passages are bracketed or footnoted in them, such as Mark 16:9–20, which the KJV prints in full as Scripture.

The KJV is the Bible I choose to read and teach from, and every reading and lesson on The KJV Journey uses it.

Do I need to pay or sign up for anything?

No. Every reading and every lesson on The KJV Journey is free, and there's no account to create and nothing to sign up for. There are no paywalls and no "premium" content; the whole library is open to everyone. If you'd like to follow along as new chapters are released, you can subscribe on YouTube or follow the show on Spotify or Apple Podcasts, but that's never required.

How often are new lessons released, and when?

A new chapter study is released every day at 4 PM Israel time. For most of the year, that's 9 AM Eastern and 6 AM Pacific in the United States. The library grows a chapter at a time as we build through all 66 books, and complete full-book readings are added as each book is finished.

What's the difference between a chapter lesson and a full-book reading?

A chapter lesson takes one chapter at a time. I teach what the chapter says, what it means and where it fits in the whole counsel of God, and then I read the chapter aloud.

A full-book reading takes you through an entire book of the Bible in one sitting, read aloud with short verse-by-verse commentary before each chapter. Timestamps take you straight to each passage, and music plays quietly underneath, never interfering with the words.

Where can I watch or listen?

Every lesson and reading is on YouTube at @TheKJVJourney. The audio is also on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, so you can listen wherever you are.

Which books are available now, and what's coming next?

The Library on this site lists every book available now. New chapters are added daily as they go live on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Releases on those channels follow a deliberate, steady schedule, one chapter a day, rather than the whole catalog arriving at once.

Are you part of a church or denomination?

No. The KJV Journey is non-denominational and Bible-believing, and it isn't connected to any church or denomination. If you'd like to know exactly where I stand, my Statement of Faith sets it out with Scripture for every point.

Why is there music in the full-book readings?

The music is there to set the room, not to fill it. A quiet score beneath the reading creates a calm, unhurried space where your attention can rest on the Word itself. It stays well underneath the voice and never competes with Scripture. Every piece is fully licensed and credited in each video's description.

Can I share your lessons, or use them in my church, class or Bible study?

Yes, please do. Share the links freely, and you're welcome to play the lessons in your church, class or Bible study straight from YouTube, Spotify or Apple Podcasts. What I ask is that you don't download and re-upload them, edit them, or sell them. While the teaching, the recordings and the lesson artwork are mine, the King James Version itself remains free for everyone.

Do you take questions about a passage, or prayer requests?

Yes, and both are welcome. If a passage has you stuck or a question won't let go, send it through the Contact page. I read every message and reply personally as much as I can, though I can't promise an answer to every one. A good question may even become a future lesson. Prayer requests are just as welcome.

How can I support the ministry?

Every teaching here is free and always will be. If The KJV Journey has been a blessing to you and you'd like to help keep it going, you can give through the Support page. Gifts help with everyday needs and the costs of the work. This is a ministry, not a business, and there's never any pressure. Your prayers help too, and so does sharing a lesson with someone who needs it.
